Preparing to Meditate

If you are new to meditation or you have tried it before and the habit didn’t quite stick, here are some helpful tips to make your meditation practise as simple as possible:

Consistency is Key

Choose a time to meditate that suits you and try to keep to it. Meditating at the same time and place daily helps turn the practise into a habit that sticks.

Comfort Over Tradition

Don’t worry about sitting cross-legged if it’s not comfortable. Comfort is crucial, so find a seated position that feels right for you. It’s all about being at ease, not fitting into a stereotype.

The Best Position for You

There’s no one-size-fits-all in meditation. Try sitting in a chair, on a sofa, or with a cushion for support. Keep your back naturally upright, arms and legs uncrossed, feet flat on the floor. Find your sweet spot between relaxed and alert.

When you’re learning something new, it’s important to remember it’s all about time and patience. Be kind to yourself and don’t worry about being perfect right away.
